    Ingredients

Here's all the ingredients you need for this yummy glaze! Measurements for each of the ingredients are included in the recipe card, below.

    • Cream Cheese - For flavor and creamy texture. You want your cream cheese to be at room temperature.
    • Unsalted Butter - For richness. Unsalted so that you don't have to worry about the glaze being salty. Your butter should be at room temperature.
    • Vanilla Bean Paste - For flavor, and the paste leaves lovely black flecks of vanilla bean in the glaze! If you don't have vanilla bean paste or prefer not to use it, you can use an equal measure of vanilla extract instead.
    • Powdered Sugar - For sweetness. I used powdered sugar because it dissolves completely, and sift it to ensure a smooth consistency to the glaze.

    Instructions

Here's how to make this recipe, step by step! More detailed instructions are included in the recipe card, below.

Steps to making Cream Cheese Glaze.
    1. Combine cream cheese and butter in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave briefly until mixture is smooth and pourable.
    2. Add vanilla bean paste and powdered sugar and mix until smooth. *See recipe card, below, for detailed instructions.*

    Variations

Here are a few variations you could make to this recipe:

    • Add Some Zest- Add some lemon, lime, or orange zest for a citrus spin on this recipe!
    • Add Some Spice - A little cinnamon or cardamom would add some warmth to the sweetness of the glaze!

How to Use Cream Cheese Glaze

The ways to use this Cream Cheese Glaze are only limited by your imagination! Here are a few ways that I've thought of:

    • Drizzle some over my Lemon Blondies, Funfetti Cinnamon Rolls, or Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls.
    • My Buttermilk Cookies or Sour Cream Cookies would be delicious with their tops dipped in this glaze!
    • My Cinnamon Roll Bars are written with a cream cheese frosting, but they could be drizzled (or drenched!) in this glaze instead!
    • Use it to glaze these baked Honey Donuts!

    Storage

Store the glaze in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For longer storage, freeze the glaze in an airtight container for up to three months.
