    Coconut Mocha Pie

My creative process is a little…messy. It’s completely the opposite of the rest of my life which is precisely planned with a series of lists and Excel spreadsheets. My most recent, messy creation: Coconut Mocha Pie.

    Blackberry Lavender Brownie Pie

I was having a creative block in the kitchen recently. Usually recipes just pop into my head or I whip up something random up to satisfy a craving. It just wasn’t happening, and trying to be creative just isn’t something that works! I took a break, I stopped trying, and this Blackberry Lavender Brownie Pie happened. And it’s magic.

    Blackberry Lemon Meringue Pie

This Blackberry Lemon Meringue Pie was a complete accident. I’m a hardcore planner by nature, so it’s not often that I end up with a surprise. That said, sometimes you can’t predict what will happen in the kitchen!

    Apple Date Pie

I was supposed to get this post up before Thanksgiving. But…sometimes I have to remind myself that my deadlines, although I’d prefer to meet them, are self-imposed. The house is on the market. My husband is currently living in another state for work. Three kids and all that comes with them. Something had to give. This Apple Date Pie is good anytime, right? 😀

    Salted Caramel Apple Pie

Apple pie is my husband’s favorite pie. Maaaaybe even his favorite dessert. He considers apple pie to be the ONLY pie one could ever want. When I made my Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie, a veritable GENIUS recipe, he scoffed and said that he preferred regular ol’ apple pie. Well, peeps, I think this Salted Caramel Apple Pie has made him a believer.

    Ginger Peach Biscuit Pie

I *finally* got Lisa Ludwinski’s book, Sister Pie! I usually find inspiration in baking books, and take parts and pieces of recipes and make something new. This book, though, is all kinds of innovative all on its own! (AND Sister Pie hails from Detroit!) <3 After I paged through her book, I had over TWENTY recipes on my “must bake” list. Of them: this Ginger Peach Biscuit Pie!

    Kahlua Brownie Pie

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I have a hard time editing myself in the kitchen. I always go too far. A batch of brownies is perfectly delicious, so why am I compelled to frost, fill, and/or dip them? I’ve always seen this as a sort of weakness; something that I need to control. I’m starting to change my thinking on this. You know what? Maybe it’s a gift. Sure, things can go too far. They can be too rich, too sweet…but they can also be over-the-top fantastic. THIS is what happens when I stop editing myself: Kahlua Brownie Pie!

    Chocolate Cherry Pie

It’s hard to keep cherries around at my house for long enough to bake them into something. I (and my family) prefer to snack on them more than anything else. I had to guard cherries with my life to bake them into this Chocolate Cherry Pie, but it was SO worth it!

    Blackberry Cream Pie

It’s summer, and it’s hot. No-bake desserts suddenly become a priority for me when the heat index is 110F. It goes without saying that sweets are a priority, so dessert IS happening regardless of the weather. This no-bake Blackberry Cream Pie is just what I needed to beat the heat!
