This Cherry Glaze is a simple and delicious treat! Bursting with cherry flavor, and without a drop of food color, you'll find yourself adding it to cakes, cookies, scones, and more!
Warm about cherries in a small saucepan on the stove until they break down and release their juice, then press the cherries in a fine-mesh strainer to get as much juice out as possible.
Sift the powdered sugar into a medium bowl, then add the cherry juice and stir to combine. If the glaze is a bit too thin, you can add more powdered sugar. If too thick, add a bit more cherry juice.
Leftover glaze can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For longer storage, the glaze may be frozen in an airtight container for up to three months.Enjoy!
Notes
Note on cherries: I used fresh cherries for this recipe, but frozen will work just as well!
