    Ingredients

Here's everything you need to make this delicious glaze--just two ingredients! Measurements for each of the ingredients are included in the recipe card, below.

    • Apple Cider- For moisture and fantastic flavor! The cider is reduced (boiled) before using in the glaze so it can provide more flavor with less moisture.
    • Powdered Sugar - For sweetness, and because it dissolves easily and gives the glaze a smooth texture. I sift my powdered sugar to help ensure there aren't any lumps in the glaze.

    Instructions

Here's how to make this recipe, step by step! More detailed instructions are included in the recipe card, below.

    Steps to making Apple Glaze.
    1. Boil apple cider until reduced to ½ cup in volume and add to sifted powdered sugar.
    2. Stir to combine. If glaze is too thin, you can add more powdered sugar. If too thick, add a bit more cider.

    How to Use Apple Glaze

The ways to use this Apple Glaze are only limited by your imagination! Here are a few ways that I've thought of:

    • Use it to glaze these baked Honey Donuts or drizzle it over Ginger Scones for a sweet start to your day!
    • Pour it over some Cornmeal Pound Cake to add autumn flavor!
    • Keep the glaze on the thicker side and use it to frost my Buttermilk Cookies.

    Storage

The glaze can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or in the freezer for up to three months.

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups apple cider
    • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted

    Instructions

    • Pour the apple cider into a small saucepan and boil over medium-high heat until reduced to ½ cup in volume. This took me about 15 minutes, but it will depend on the size of your pan and how hot your stove is.
    • Sift the powdered sugar into a medium bowl, then add the reduced cider and stir to combine. If the glaze is a bit too thin, you can add more powdered sugar. If too thick, add a bit more cider.
    • The glaze can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or in the freezer for up to three months.
      Enjoy!
