Christmas Breakfasts

There are lots of recipe roundups out there for Christmas sweets, desserts, and dinner ideas, but I don’t see many (any?) for Christmas Breakfasts. Planning breakfast on Christmas morning might not be something at the top of your to-do list as we enter these last few days before the holiday, but come Christmas morning you’ll be glad you did! So here’s my roundup of Christmas-morning-worthy breakfast recipes!

Cinnamon Brioche Wreath

This Cinnamon Brioche Wreath is the stuff breakfast/brunch dreams are made of! This soft, buttery brioche is sweetened with cinnamon sugar for an extra special treat. I took it over the top and added a vanilla bean glaze. This one certainly wouldn’t disappoint on Christmas morning!

Mocha Sweet Rolls

Mocha Sweet Rolls

These Mocha Sweet Rolls have a chocolate-espresso filling and are drizzled with espresso glaze! As if that weren’t enough, I went ahead and sprinkled some crushed chocolate-covered espresso beans on top for good measure. This breakfast will help you keep up with the kids (unless you feed this to the kids…then there’s no keeping up)! 😉 😀

Mom’s Cinnamon Rolls

cinnamon rollsA classic! My Mom’s Cinnamon Rolls are amazing! All that ooey, gooey goodness is slathered in cream cheese frosting. I think cinnamon rolls are such a good Christmas breakfast idea that I have two more recipes for cinnamon rolls below! 😀

Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls

This recipe takes a classic and dials it up a notch! These Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls are a variation of my Mom’s Cinnamon Rolls with the addition of swirls of cooked apples. These babies are topped with an insanely good cinnamon-browned butter glaze. I don’t know anyone who could say no to one of these!

Banana Bread Cinnamon Rolls

This third cinnamon roll recipe is just as Christmas-worthy as the first two. These Banana Bread Cinnamon Rolls combine all the best that cinnamon rolls and banana bread have to offer! These gems are covered in in salted caramel cream cheese frosting. Amazing doesn’t cover it.

Funfetti Cinnamon Rolls

Okay, okay. ONE more cinnamon roll recipe, because this one is one of my absolute favorite Christmas breakfasts! These Funfetti Cinnamon Rolls are definitely the most festive of the bunch. With sprinkles in the dough and on top, my youngest asked why we were having candy for breakfast! <3

Buttermilk Biscuits

Buttermilk Biscuits are unequivocally one of the most delicious foods on the planet. They’re not fancy or fussy, but still perfect any morning, even on Christmas. Make them into breakfast sandwiches, pour sausage gravy over them, or slather them in butter or jam. You can’t go wrong!

Challah

French toast is big at my house, and it would definitely be welcome come Christmas morning. When it’s made with this chewy, eggy, soft Challah, you’re on your way to breakfast glory.

Date Spice Bread

This Date Spice Bread may look humble, but she stands alone and tall in flavor! This bread is full of dates, spices, and orange zest! It’s flavorful and comforting–the perfect addition to Christmas morning!

Apple Turnovers

Warm up your kitchen making these buttery, flaky Apple Turnovers! Made with homemade “rough” puff pastry filled with homemade apple preserves, these are a real treat! They can also be made ahead, and baked Christmas morning for a stress-free holiday morning!

Homemade Bagels

Freshly baked, soft, chewy Homemade Bagels–warm from the oven on Christmas morning! What a merry Christmas that would be!

Gingerbread Madeleines

Madeleines for breakfast? Why not? Especially on Christmas! These Gingerbread Madeleines are simple, quick, easy, and yet still manage to be elegant–perfect for a special occasion when you don’t have a lot of time! The vanilla bean glaze on top is the perfect finish for these beauties!

Cinnamon Honey Scones

A scone might not seem special enough for Christmas morning, but let me tell you this recipe is AWESOME! These Cinnamon Honey Scones are tender, flavorful, and never, ever dry! The lovely swirls of cinnamon honey butter throughout and the sprinkle of raw sugar on top are just the right amount of sweetness to fill your holiday morning.

So don’t forget to plan your Christmas Breakfasts! You need something to fill your belly while you drink your coffee and stare at the beautiful mess that Christmas morning has left behind! <3
